You plug it into power, plug in your devices, and it just works. There is no &#8220;brain&#8221; to configure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fixed Configuration:<\/strong> You cannot change how it handles data. It simply passes traffic from Point A to Point B.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plug-and-Play:<\/strong> No setup required. Great for &#8220;set it and forget it&#8221; situations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Non-Visible:<\/strong> You can&#8217;t see what&#8217;s happening inside. If a port dies or a cable is bad, you usually find out only when the device stops working.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Very affordable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Managed Switches: The &#8220;Control Center&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"p-rc_0de1da5d760ebd71-42\">A managed switch gives you a &#8220;seat at the table.&#8221; It has its own operating system and allows you to log in and tell the switch exactly how to behave.<sup><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VLAN Support:<\/strong> You can chop one physical switch into several virtual ones (e.g., keep the &#8220;Security Cameras&#8221; separate from the &#8220;Accounting PCs&#8221;).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>QoS (Quality of Service):<\/strong> You can tell the switch to prioritize certain traffic.
